Homecoming Packed With Wolfpack Pride

As Homecoming week comes to a close, be aware that Friday afternoon will be a candy-filled traffic nightmare on Hillsborough Street as the annual parade, pep rally and concert will be taken over by all things NC State.

Students, alumni, faculty and staff are invited to participate in the afternoon activities, sponsored by the NC State Alumni Association and Live it Up! Hillsborough Street.

Mr. and Mrs. Wuf graced Hillsborough street with their presence. Most of the activities will be at the corner of Horne Street and Hillsborough, where DJ Triple B will begin at 5 p.m. The parade will be travel along Hillsborough Street from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by the pep rally at Horne Street.

NC State basketball head coach Mark Gottfried, Latin dance team Sube Ritmo and a cappella group Ladies in Red are among those who have committed for the pep rally. The first 300 people at the rally will receive free sandwiches, chips and dip, provided by Groucho’s Deli of Raleigh.

Afterwards, the band Barleycorn and Rye will perform its brand of uptempo Irish and Americana music in a free concert.

On Saturday, NC State’s Wolfpack football team, fresh off its first ACC win of the season last Saturday at Syracuse, looks to continue its victorious ways by hosting Georgia Tech in a 12:30 p.m. contest at Carter-Finley Stadium.

Fans are asked to join the football team—which will be decked out in its all-red uniforms and helmets—in wearing all red at the game.

Following the football game, the NC State men’s basketball team will tip off its season with an exhibition game against Queens University at PNC Arena 45 minutes after football ends. PNC doors open at 3:30 p.m.
