In Memoriam: Jonathan Ocko

Professor Jonathan Ocko, head of the history department, died Jan. 22. He was 68.

“We mourn Jonathan’s passing, and will miss his intellect, passion, and commitment,” said Jeff Braden, dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. “Although I am confident we will remember fondly his wit, humor, and unflagging good will, I know that today, we mourn the loss of a friend, a colleague, and a leader.”

Braden appointed David Zonderman to serve as interim head of the department. Plans for a memorial service are pending.
