Make It a Pack-N-Roll Marathon

NC State-affiliated musical groups interested in performing during the second-annual Rock-N-Roll Raleigh marathon and half-marathon, much of which will be run on or near NC State’s campus, have until Feb. 20 to apply to be one of 40 or so bands performing on race day.

The full and half marathons are slated for April 12. The marathon will work its way down Hillsborough Street, through Centennial Campus and past the Hunt Library before returning to downtown Raleigh.

The main musical act, pop/rock band Smash Mouth, will give a free concert at the Red Hat Amphitheater at the Finish Line Festival in downtown Raleigh, but throughout the day bands will play at the 20 stages set up every mile or so along the route.

Some of those stages will be on campus, and the race organizers are looking for red-and-white flavored bands to participate. For more information, visit the Entertainment page for Rock-N-Roll Raleigh.

Interested organizations or groups need two MP3 files and a high-resolution photo to submit with their application.
