On Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 10 a.m., NC State Chancellor Randy Woodson and David Fountain, Duke Energy’s North Carolina president, will be on hand to announce the “Backpacks to Briefcases” program, which will provide paid internships to unemployed and underemployed college graduates from Wake and Johnston counties.

The event will be held in the Currituck/Hatteras room in Talley Student Union on main campus. Media coverage of the remarks is invited.

NC State and Duke Energy executives as well as local employers will be available to comment on the program.

The program, funded by a $386,000 investment from the Duke Energy Foundation, is part of a $2 million investment in workforce development to six UNC system schools.
