2 New Charging Stations on Campus
Looking for a charge on central campus? There are two new electric vehicle charging stations available at the Dan Allen Deck and the Coliseum Deck, bringing the total number of stations on campus to 22.
The stations are funded jointly by the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center, the North Carolina Department of Transportation and NCSU Transportation.
“As more people consider driving electric vehicles, the interest in and demand for charging stations has increased,” said Carla Davis of the University Sustainability Office. “With these new campus charging stations, driving an electric vehicle is now more feasible for members of the campus community, particularly those who live, work or attend class in the university’s central and north campus areas.”
The new stations require a campus parking permit and are reserved at all times for electric vehicles only. They accommodate two vehicles, with a four-hour maximum charging/parking time limit.
Entering the Dan Allen Deck from Dan Allen Drive, the EVC station is on the right-hand side of the deck’s permitted area. The Coliseum Deck station is in the surface lot between the Coliseum Deck and Cates Avenue. Enter the surface lot via Cates Avenue (drive closest to Jensen Drive). The two EVC station spaces are to the left of the pay lot entrance.
