Bandini will oversee all university real estate activities through engagement with internal and external partners. He will oversee the university’s real estate portfolio and operations across NC State’s campuses, cultivate and implement strategic public-private partnerships in connection with the development and financing of further physical assets, and further the university’s mission in real estate matters.

Prior to joining NC State, Bandini practiced commercial real estate law at Parker Poe in Raleigh for nearly 18 years. At Parker Poe, he was an equity partner and held a variety of positions, including practice group leader for the Raleigh real estate group and marketing partner for the Raleigh office.

Bandini recently co-chaired the firm committee to design and upfit 50,000 square feet of Parker Poe’s new office space in the PNC Plaza in downtown Raleigh, which has received accolades for design and innovation at the local and national levels. Bandini’s real estate practice focused on public-private partnerships, mixed-use and planned developments, public infrastructure, and commercial lending and finance. His clients included real estate, corporate and institutional clients across the Southeast and around the country.

Bandini, who has lived in Raleigh for more than 36 years, is active in the Triangle chapter of the Urban Land Institute and was recently appointed to the board of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance. Prior to joining Parker Poe, Bandini was an attorney in the transportation section of the N.C. Attorney General’s office. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history, a master’s degree in regional planning and a J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

NC State operates and maintains 1,163 buildings on 106,990 acres statewide. A total of 452 buildings are located on the 2,200-acre main campus in Raleigh, comprising more than 8 million assignable square feet. The assets beyond the main campus include research farms, 4-H camps, extension offices, field labs, research forests and other mission-supporting facilities. All of the university’s physical resources support its mission of scholarship, research and community service.
