As part of its Cyber Security Month slate of events, the Office of Information Technology will partner with RTP180 to present “Fake News” on Oct. 24.

The panel conversation will spotlight five local experts speaking on the science and psychology behind fake news and the current platforms available to help consumers detect fake news on the internet. Wade Minter, public address announcer for the Carolina Hurricanes, will emcee.

The free, public event will be followed by a question-and-answer session and networking time. Dell will provide drinks by the NC State Brewery and Puppet will provide appetizers. There also will be opportunities to win prizes.

To register, visit EventBrite and use the password NCSTATE.
