An Update on Federally Funded Research and Programs

Chancellor Randy Woodson shares an update with NC State faculty, staff and students.

NC State community,

In my message to you last week, I shared that the university is working to understand the impacts of executive orders on federal grants and research funding. This week, that work continues.

The Office of Research and Innovation (ORI), our associate deans for research, University Human Resources, the Office of General Counsel, the Office of Finance and Administration and several other units are working together to review the directives received from federal granting agencies and to understand their impact on individual grants. As this work progresses, ORI will continue updating its resource page to guide our research community.

It remains essential that you continue to work on projects unless you receive an order or communication from a federal sponsor or from the university to stop work on a project. If you receive other kinds of directives or guidance directly from a sponsoring federal agency, please notify ORI.

I recognize that uncertainty and waiting for more information is challenging, and I want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate change together. If you need additional support or assistance, please take advantage of the resources available to you through the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program and on the Wolfpack Wellness site.

Thank you,

Randy Woodson
Chancellor
