Soil Scientist McLaughlin Recognized
Dr. Richard McLaughlin will be honored for his research at the upcoming Soil Science Society of America annual meeting.
McLaughlin, professor and extension specialist in the Department of Soil Science, received the Soil Science Applied Research Award. His program has focused on erosion, sediment, and turbidity control on construction sites. He is among 11 honorees who will be recognized Oct. 16-19 in San Antonio.
McLaughlin holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and master’s and doctoral degrees from Purdue. He is active in the Soil and Water Conservation Society and the International Erosion Control Association, which presented him with the Educational Achievement Award for 2010.
