Clean Up at Campus Recycling Events

Here’s your chance to dispose of electronics and shred confidential papers, right on campus. Visit the Centennial Campus utility plant on Tuesday, Nov. 15, America Recycles Day.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., you can safely dispose of computer components and televisions, which are banned from North Carolina landfills. Although most devices with a cord can be recycled for free, there’s a $5 to $10 fee per television. (Of course this is only for personal electronics; university property must go to Surplus Materials Management.)

Paper shredding for confidential documents will also be offered. All personal and NC State departmental materials are allowed, up to a limit of eight boxes.

At last year’s event,  NC State collected more than 22,000 pounds of electronics and 11,000 pounds of paper.
