Chancellor’s Leadership Profile Now Available

The digital brochure details what NC State has to offer and what it is looking for in its next leader.

The NC state Belltower

Earlier this fall, faculty, staff and students were invited to give feedback about what traits they would like to see in the university’s future leader. After conducting seven community listening sessions and receiving more than 6,000 survey responses, that feedback, as well as other elements of the search process, have been compiled in the Chancellor’s Leadership Profile.

The document provides an overview of NC State’s mission, vision and values as well as rankings, academic programs, research enterprise, partnerships, athletics, finances and more. According to campus community feedback, the most desirable qualities in NC State’s next chancellor include:

  • The highest level of integrity and authenticity
  • Appreciation for NC State’s mission, history and commitment to students
  • Recognition, value and support toward faculty and staff
  • Strategic leadership and vision
  • Strong support for research, creativity and innovation
  • The ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external constituency groups
  • Operational and financial leadership, to include infrastructure and capital projects
  • Commitment to community and inclusive excellence.
