Porch, McKenzie To Lead UNC System Staff Assembly

NC State employees will serve as both the chair and the parliamentarian for the advisory body for all UNC System staff.

Two employees with extensive service records on NC State’s Staff Senate have been elected to leadership roles for the executive committee of the University of North Carolina System Staff Assembly for the 2025-27 term. The assembly represents staff across all 17 institutions of the UNC System.

Alan Porch, a business manager for the College of Sciences, has been installed as chair. Jameco McKenzie, director of Multicultural Student Affairs, has been elected parliamentarian.

Porch has served as chair for both the NC State Staff Senate (2023-24) and the College of Sciences Staff Advisory Council. McKenzie has been a senator for the Division of Academic and Student Affairs since 2020. He has also served on the Staff Senate executive board and is the board’s current chair. 

NC State staff rotating off the UNC Staff Assembly executive committee are Pat Gaddy, parliamentarian and executive assistant to the assistant vice chancellor of the Office of Information Technology; Janice Sitzes, staff assembly secretary and director of the Office of Continuing and Professional Education; and Jill Phipps, staff assembly at large delegate and accounting technician for the Office of Information Technology.
