Plummer Selected for CPA Academy

Jared Plummer has been selected as one of 36 CPAs under age 36 to participate in the American Institute of CPAs fourth annual Leadership Academy in Durham this fall.

Plummer is assistant director of admissions for the Jenkins Master of Accounting program, and a 2007 graduate of the program. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from the Poole College of Management in 2005.

Plummer will join rising stars in the accounting profession from across the country to learn leadership theory and strategic planning techniques, develop tools for handling complex management challenges and discuss the most important issues facing CPAs and the accounting industry.

“I congratulate Jared on being selected for this tremendous experience,” said Dr. Frank Buckless, head of the Department of Accounting. “It reflects well on the professionalism and leadership that he has already exhibited, and will enable him to bring even greater value to his role within Poole College and our academic programs.”
