Vice Provost, Director of Libraries Susan Nutter to Retire
Susan Nutter, vice provost and director of the NCSU Libraries, has announced that she is stepping down this fall. Nutter arrived at NC State in 1987 with a vision of creating a world-class library on Centennial Campus. Her vision was realized with the opening of the James B. Hunt Jr. Library in January 2013.
Helping Social Studies Teachers Engage Students in Learning About World War I
Associate professor Meghan Manfra is helping teachers and students better understand the impact of World War I on North Carolina through curriculum resources she helped develop for the N.C. Museum of History’s interactive multimedia World War I exhibit that opened in April.

NC State Honors Outstanding Faculty
NC State recognized 28 faculty members for their dedication to teaching, learning, research and service during the 2017 Celebration of Faculty Excellence on May 2. Staff Ombuds Services Now Available
NC State staff members now have the ability to use the advisory services of Roy Baroff, the faculty and staff ombuds, to provide confidential, informal, impartial and independent issue and conflict resolution.
University Faculty Scholars Named
NC State Chancellor Randy Woodson announced the 2016-17 class of University Faculty Scholars. The class of 22 recipients represents top early- and mid-career faculty engaging in research to present solutions to society’s most pressing issues.
Boney Named Director for Institute for Emerging Issues
Leslie Boney, III, vice president of international, community and economic engagement for the University of North Carolina system, has been named director of the Institute for Emerging Issues (IEI), effective January 1, 2017.
