Dickey studies new ways to pattern, actuate, and control soft materials (gels, polymers, liquid metals). Applications of his research include patterning, 3D printing, stretchable/soft electronics, self-folding, actuation of soft robotics, wearable electronics, energy harvesting devices, reconfigurable circuits, and microfluidics.
