Charlotte-Monroe Executive Airport boasts large economic impact, The Herald (Rock Hill, SC), Jan. 25, 2013. Michael Zimmer, president of Cyril Bath Co., had a choice to make last fall to either expand his aerospace operations at the company’s Monroe site or move that work to Charleston, S.C. He decided to stay put, retaining the company’s 45 jobs in Monroe and adding another 10 jobs over the next few years. That impact on the local economy is just the type of activity highlighted by a recent study for the state Department of Transportation by the Institute for Transportation Research and Education at NC State University.
