Durham-Chapel Hill metro area April job growth rate ‘modest’

Durham-Chapel Hill metro area April job growth rate ‘modest’, Herald-Sun, May 26, 2012e.  Unemployment in the Durham-Chapel Hill metro area fell to 7.1 percent in April, according to estimates released Friday by the N.C. Division of Employment Security….  Mike Walden, an economics professor at N.C. State University, said the 1.4 percent growth rate was modest, but is still a positive sign. “It’s good in a sense that we had an increase in jobs rather than a decrease in jobs, but 1.4 percent year over year would be a pretty modest increase,” Walden said.
