So, Leiva color-coded his guitar strings to improve his skills, and now fronts a start-up business with a chance to become a big hit in the music equipment industry.

In helping students cope with tight economic times, NC State leaders have formed a dual-degree program with Campbell Law School that will allow students to earn their Master of Public Administration and Juris Doctor degrees in just four years - saving them serious tuition dollars while getting them into the workplace a year sooner than their future colleagues.

Elisa Lorello discovered a novel way to ignite sales of her books: e-publishing on Kindle. After self-publishing (in the traditional sense) to little fanfare, Lorello - who teaches writing to first-year students in the university's Department of English - headed to Amazon.com and soon found her work on the best-seller list.
