NC State Holds Welcoming Ceremony for Chancellor Woodward

North Carolina State University’s students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends will hold a celebration welcoming Chancellor Jim Woodward on June 16, at 12:30 p.m., in the North Plaza behind Talley Student Center. In the event of rain, the celebration will be moved to the Talley Student Center’s ballroom.

Media is invited to attend the event. Public parking is available in the parking deck located at the corner of Cates Avenue and Jeter Drive.

Woodward, who started work at NC State June 9, previously served as the chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from 1989 to 2005. During his tenure at UNC at Charlotte, Woodward oversaw the significant expansion of the school to more than 19,000 students; the awarding of the school’s first doctoral degrees; and the largest fund-raising campaign in the school’s history. Woodward will serve as interim chancellor as the university conducts a search for the next chancellor.
