Rowe’s Contributions Recognized
Dr. John E. “Jack” Rowe, research professor in physics, has won an annual award for a scientist with a longstanding record of solving technological problems.
The American Vacuum Society presented Rowe with its 2011 Albert Nerken Award, named for an industry pioneer and founder of Veeco Instruments.
Rowe was cited for playing a fundamental role in developing electron loss spectroscopy, photoemission and synchrotron radiation techniques and their applications to surface and interface studies.
