College of Veterinary Medicine Open House Scheduled for March 31

North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine will host an open house on Saturday, March 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The annual event offers the public an insider’s view of transformative animal medicine at one of the nation’s top veterinary colleges. The open house features more than 40 exhibits, opportunities to get up close with various animals large and small, special demonstrations, and chances to talk with faculty and students about best care practices for pets and what it takes to become a veterinarian. Fun and informative tour stops explain the connection between animal and human health, advances in veterinary medicine, and include attractions for young children.

Media are invited to attend the event, and will have the opportunity to meet Sage, the canine hero of both 9/11 and Katrina disaster recovery efforts. The College of Veterinary Medicine is located at 4700 Hillsborough Street. Media parking will be available in the lot in front of the Terry Center. Contact David Green for more information at 919.810.7201.

The event is free and open to the public. Please do not bring pets to the open house and, in keeping with animal health regulations, please do not attend if you have traveled overseas after March 23. For more information, visit http://www.cvm.ncsu.edu/news/openhouse/.
