A Book for Fertile Minds

A book about the development of chemical fertilizer is this year’s common reading selection. Copies of the nonfiction work, “The Alchemy of Air: A Jewish Genius, a Doomed Tycoon, and the Scientific Discovery That Fed the World but Fueled the Rise of Hitler,” will be distributed to incoming students during orientation this summer. The author, Thomas Hager, will be the featured speaker at the fall convocation.

The book was chosen from a field of 32 nominees by a committee composed of faculty, students, staff and a parent.
