NC State Hunt Library Dedication April 3

Join us for the dedication of the new library named for former Gov. James B. Hunt Jr. on Wednesday (April 3) at North Carolina State University.  Reporters will be able to operate a Navy submarine simulator and experience firsthand some of the other unique technologies available to students in the library.

Below is a condensed schedule for media, including a joint interview availability with Chancellor Randy Woodson and Gov. Jim Hunt.

1 p.m. Exclusive, interactive tour for media.

  • Command a submarine in a simulation developed in partnership with the Navy as a tool to better train cadets
  • Experience 3-D printing, which enables entrepreneurship through cost-effective product testing
  • Explore visualization labs that immerse students in real-life situations such as key moments in history, crime-scene reconstruction, models of the universe and more
  • Experience a four-player motion interactive game developed by NC State students
  • Explore the Institute for Emerging Issues Commons

2:30 p.m. — Joint interview with Chancellor Randy Woodson and Gov. Jim Hunt

3 p.m. — Dedication event begins with 1,000 guests including faculty, staff, students and political leaders.
