Powwow Honors Native American Culture

Multicultural Student Affairs will host the 25th-annual NC State Powwow on Saturday, March 21, on Miller Fields between Dan Allen Drive and Morrill Drive, next to Carmichael Gym. The powwow will feature traditional Native American dances and drumming, craft vendors and food available for purchase. Dance and drum contests will be held in a variety of categories, with cash prizes for the winners.

The venue will open at 11 a.m., and the event will take place from noon to 7 p.m. Limited seating will be provided, so attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs to the event. The rain location will be Carmichael Gym.

Admission is free for current NC State students with student ID. Adult admission is $4; admission for children ages 7-16 is $2; and children ages 6 and younger get in free.

For more information, contact Ian T. Stroud, assistant director of Multicultural Student Affairs, at (919) 513-3480 or itstroud@ncsu.edu. Additional information about the powwow is available online.
