O&E Awards Recognize Service
At the Office of Outreach and Engagement’s annual awards ceremony, 16 awards were presented to individuals, groups and organizations across campus and in the Raleigh area, recognizing them for exceptional community service. The ceremony was held April 13 at the McKimmon Center for Extension and Continuing Education.
Chancellor Randy Woodson noted NC State’s recent national recognition for its outreach and engagement activities, including designation as an Innovation and Economic Prosperity University by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, designation as a 2015 Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching Engaged University, and being named to the 2014 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.
“We have three simple goals: promoting a culture of engagement, community positioning and building NC State’s capacity to make a difference,” said Terri Helmlinger Ratcliff, vice provost of Outreach and Engagement. “I feel confident that with the assistance of all of our engaged faculty and the inspiration and compassion they awaken in our students, we’ll accomplish our goals and continue to make great strides in improving the lives of North Carolinians and beyond.”
