Weekly Wellness Program Begins May 25

Learn how to eat smart and move more in a 15-week program on campus.

The State Health Plan’s popular wellness program, “Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less,” returns to NC State on May 25 with a series of weekly classes focused on healthy living. Participants in the 15-week program will meet every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to noon in the Carmichael Recreation Center. Registration is available online.

The program’s goal is to inform, empower and motivate you to live mindfully as you make choices about eating and physical activity. An experienced instructor trained in weight management leads each weekly one-hour lesson.

Lesson titles include “Re-think Your Drink,” “Move Strong” and “Right-size Your Portions,” among many others.

Each lesson includes information about why a behavior is important for weight loss and maintenance, practical strategies for adopting the behavior, guided discussions, and opportunities for sharing and celebrating achievements.

Participants receive a full-color magazine with recipes and ideas, a journal for tracking progress, and access to online services.

Members of the State Health Plan may enroll for $30 (but you’ll receive a $25 refund for good attendance).
