American Chemical Society to Honor Velev
Orlin Velev, INVISTA Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, is one of two distinguished researchers slated to be honored by the American Chemical Society in August. Velev and Kathleen Stebe of the University of Pennsylvania will receive the 2018 Langmuir Lectureship Award at the society’s national meeting in Boston.
The award recognizes individuals working in the interdisciplinary field of colloid and surface chemistry.
“This year’s Langmuir lecturers are outstanding scientists who display remarkable creativity in using fundamental research in colloid and interface science to develop new materials and devices,” said Langmuir Editor-in-Chief Françoise Winnik.
ACS is the world’s largest scientific society and one of the leading sources of scientific information. A nonprofit organization chartered by Congress, ACS is at the forefront of the evolving worldwide chemical enterprise and the premier professional home for chemists, chemical engineers and related professions around the globe.
