Nathan Goldman, the Dean’s Professor of Accounting at the Poole College of Management, has been named one of the Top 50 Undergraduate Business Professors by Poets & Quants.

Professors from 45 schools across the globe were selected – around 200 were nominated overall, from more than 1,200 nominating surveys – and Goldman is one of four from universities in the state of North Carolina. The top 50 were selected based on a formula that includes Google Scholar citations, media attention, service to their university and impact on everything from their fields to industry to their students’ success.

“His scholarly contributions are extensive and widely respected within the academic community,” wrote Jenkins MAC alum Jennifer Palmer, “but what truly sets him apart is his unwavering commitment to mentoring students. Even after my graduation, he has continued to go above and beyond to support my journey toward becoming a Ph.D. student.”

Goldman has been with NC State since 2019 and teaches Advanced Income Taxation to undergrads. Outside of his classroom duties, he provides mentorship through his roles as a Park Faculty Scholar and in advising for case competitions.

He’s been published in many esteemed accounting journals, with a recent study of his winning the American Taxation Association Outstanding Manuscript award. He’s an academic contributor to Forbes and is frequently called upon by media, both local and national, for expertise on tax issues. Goldman is also an Associate Editor at the European Accounting Review and sits on the editorial board at around half a dozen journals.

“His willingness to invest time and energy into my success speaks volumes about his character and dedication to student development,” notes Palmer. “His rapid ascent to full Professor, achieved in under a decade, is a testament to his exceptional leadership and impact.”
