Four Faculty Win Holladay Medal

Four faculty members received the Alexander Quarles Holladay Medal for Excellence, the highest honor bestowed by NC State and the university’s Board of Trustees. Chancellor Randy Woodson will recognize the awardees during the Celebration of Faculty Excellence on April 30.

New Gift from Skanska USA Building Provides Strong Start for Integrative Sciences Building Construction

A generous gift from Skanska USA Building Incorporated provides a strong start to funding for NC State’s Integrative Sciences Building. The $125,000 founding commitment, made under the leadership of Executive Vice President and General Manager Mark Balling, will name Laboratory Rooms 169/171 in the building that will transform the sciences at NC State.

Senior Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs Katharine Stewart will be stepping down from her position to return to her full-time faculty role as a professor in the Department of Psychology. Her last day as senior vice provost will be June 30, 2024.

Jason Bocarro, the Owens-Shelton Distinguished Professor for Leadership with a Global Perspective, has been named the 2023 UNC Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching. Miles Engell Receives 2023 Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching

Miles Engell is the recipient of the 2023 Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Engell, a teaching professor in the Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Sciences, is known as an outstanding professor who engages and challenges students by applying real examples of animal behavior research to the topic addressed.

Garey Fox has been named dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at North Carolina State University following a nationwide search.
