McKeand Nabs Top Service Award for Work With Pines

Steve McKeand, director of NC State’s Cooperative Tree Improvement Program, is honored with the Governor James E. Holshouser Jr. Award for Excellence in Public Service. The program breeds loblolly and longleaf pines to better cope with disease, pests and a changing climate.
