NC State Makes Honor Roll
NC State has been named to the 2009 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll by the Corporation for National and Community Service.
Homegrown Help For Haiti
For four years, NC State has had a hand in feeding 1,400 Haitian schoolchildren who live within six miles of the epicenter of the recent earthquake. Dr. Charlotte Farin, an animal science professor, works with the Christianville Foundation Farm in Gressier, which produces fish, eggs, goats and pigs to provide high-quality protein for school lunches.
Employees Organize Food Drives
The staff at the NCSU Libraries helped make it possible for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina to deliver more than 14,000 meals to people in need in the state.
Teamwork Helps Job Seekers
Laurie Textor, EPA personnel coordinator in Human Resources Information Management, was honored for her role in organizing a televised call-in program in June that provided job search advice and assistance to more than 1,000 Triangle residents.
