Coe Wins Public Administration Award

Dr. Charles Coe, professor of public administration, has won a national award for faculty excellence in teaching, research and service to the wider community.

Coe will accept the 2011 Charles H. Levine Memorial Award for Excellence in Public Administration, awarded jointly by the American Society for Public Administration and the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration.

Dr. Charles CoeCoe, who teaches budgeting and financial management, is a former budget director for Grand Rapids, Mich. He consulted with local governments and state agencies for eight years as a public service associate with the Institute of Government at the University of Georgia.

He is the author of more than 15 handbooks on management of state and local government, one of which one a Blue Pencil award from the National Association of Government Communication as outstanding technical publication. He earned a master’s in public administration from the University of Michigan and a doctorate in public administration from the University of Georgia.
