Tips on Teaching a New Course

Getting ready to teach a course you’ve never taught before? Pack your lunch and pick up some helpful ideas during a panel discussion from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 2 in the Talley Student Center’s Green Room.

The Assistant Professors’ Learning Community is sponsoring a brown-bag session featuring three panelists:

  • Sue Bracken, assistant professor of leadership, policy and adult and higher education
  • Martha Scotford, professor of graphic design
  • Len Stefanski, professor of statistics

Be sure to sign up online.  Bottled water and cookies will be provided.

The learning community provides mentoring for junior faculty. The group offers sessions each semester on research, teaching and other topics. One of the group’s goals is to introduce assistant professors to other faculty with similar interests.

If you have questions or want to subscribe to a listserv for information about future sessions, contact Marcia Gumpertz, assistant vice provost for faculty and staff diversity, at gumpertz@ncsu.edu.
