MPA Program Wins Diversity Award

NC State’s master of public administration program received the 2013 NASPAA Diversity Award from the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration for promoting and supporting diversity in research, teaching and service.

Several MPA graduate students and alumni, including Suzie Mwarabu, Melanie Reister, Traci Young and Emily Nwakpuda, nominated the program. Rajade M. Berry-James is the director of graduate programs in the School of Public and International Affairs.

The students praised the program’s Diverse Lab simulation in PA598: Cultural Competence for the Public Sector, the Social Equity Leadership Conference 2013, and research and service learning opportunities in PA 515: Research Methods.
