Strategic Planning Is Focus of Faculty Meeting

Strategic planning is the main topic at the upcoming general faculty meeting scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, in the Coastal Ballroom at the Talley Student Union.

The meeting, hosted by faculty chair David Zonderman, will include remarks by Provost Warwick Arden, a discussion of strategic resource management and a review of the university’s 10-year strategic plan, now at the three-year mark.

“The Pathway to the Future: NC State’s 2011-2020 Strategic Plan” is the framework that guides university administrators in long- and short-term planning and decision-making. It has five goals:

  • Supporting student success
  • Enhancing research and scholarship by investing in faculty and infrastructure
  • Encouraging interdisciplinary scholarship to address the grand challenges of society
  • Fostering an environment of organizational excellence and constant improvement
  • Increasing local and global engagement through strategic partnerships
