Glues to Fuels: NC State, Partners Get Grant to Make Low-Cost Fuels from Forest Biomass

Create liquid fuels out of biomass products like wood waste and sawdust. Prove that this biofuels production technology can be performed on a larger scale than just the lab bench. And then show that the process is cheaper than coaxing ethanol from crops like corn.

NC State Police Department Takes Plunge for N.C. Special Olympics

The North Carolina State University Police Department will hold its third annual “Polar Plunge” to raise money for North Carolina  Special Olympics. Police officers and other plungers who have collected at least $50 in donations will jump into Lake Raleigh on NC State’s Centennial Campus at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2.
