Teens: Sex Fiends Or Sexless?

The parents of these dancing teenagers think they are not interested in having sex.

A new study from NC State shows that most parents of teenagers believe that: A) their teen does not (repeat, not) want to have sex; and, B) every other teen definitely wants to have sex. The parents of teenage girls and boys alike fear that their children will be taken advantage of by other teens. But they are not, apparently, comfortable with the idea that their child may be actively trying to have sex with someone else.

I’m not sure what to make of that, but it doesn’t sound like a good basis for frank discussions between parents and children about sexual activity and sexual health. And those discussions are important. Especially when you consider that 48% of high school students in the U.S. have had sexual intercourse (according to the CDC).
