Research Gets Curiouser and Curiouser

Now starring in a median near you - the ants of Manhattan.

Interested in learning more about how ants live in the medians of Manhattan or in Peruvian tree gardens? How about the ways animals and plants move through landscape corridors that surround nuclear weapons sites?

If so, you have something in common with Dr. Jai Ranganathan, a conservation biologist who produces “Curiouser and Curiouser” podcasts for the Miller-McCune website. Ranganathan recently spoke with three NC State biologists to learn more about their work.

You can hear insect biologist Rob Dunn talk about ants on Broadway; ecologist Nick Haddad discuss landscape corridors; and Elsa Youngsteadt, an insect biologist who works at Sigma Xi and who received her Ph. D. at NC State under entomologist Coby Schal, examines ant gardens in trees.
