Time for Your Health
If taking care of yourself has slipped lower on your to-do list, do some catching up at the Benefits and Wellness Expo on Friday at the McKimmon Center.
From flu shots to financial planning, you can accomplish a lot from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
“We want to promote wellness for all aspects of life—for the whole person,” said Rob Stevenson with the Benefits Office. “That’s why you’ll find workshops on managing your money and getting your Wolfpack degree as well as health screenings and fitness information.”
Degrees and Dollars
Featured workshops will help you get a handle on your finances and master the college admissions process.
If you’re ready to finish a degree or help your son or daughter apply to NC State, stop by Room 4 at 11:15 for a workshop with undergraduate admissions. You can also find out more about paying for college.
At 11:30, you can learn how to stretch your paycheck by setting up a spending plan, courtesy of the folks with the State Employees Credit Union. Register here.
Or, sign up for an SECU workshop on credit scores at 12:30.
If retirement is on the horizon, you can get a financial checkup from investment consultants from TIAA-CREF, Prudential, Valic or Fidelity, who will be available during the day.
Almost Painless
Don’t miss the chance to get your flu shot first thing this fall. It’s free for employees, family members and retirees covered by the State Health Plan. Register for an appointment.
You also can give blood (yes, even on the same day you get your flu shot), get your blood pressure checked, find out your body mass index and enjoy a chair massage.
With more than 50 vendor booths, you’re sure to find something of interest, from fitness demonstrations to free samples. You might even save money on your cell phone.
