Make Benefits Changes in October
October is the month to re-enroll in flexible spending plans and to add or drop specialized health, accident and life insurance.
If you don’t make changes, your current coverage will continue. The only exception is flexible spending accounts for health care and dependent day care, which require you to re-enroll each year.
Through Monday, Oct. 31, you can make adjustments in the following insurance coverage:
- Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)
- Vision
- Cancer
- Critical Illness
- Dental
- NCFlex Group Term Life
- Hyatt Legal Plan
- Liberty Mutual Long Term Disability
Faculty and staff enrolled in the Liberty Mutual Long-Term Disability plan will see a 24 percent rate reduction beginning in January. Dental plan rates will increase slightly, but there are enhanced benefits for those in the high option plan.
It’s also a good time to review your retirement saving and optional NC State plans.
Visit the Benefits site for details about the changes.
