NC State Hosts Discussion of Freedom Riders
What: North Carolina State University is hosting “Portraits of the 1961 Freedom Riders,” a pictorial presentation and discussion on this landmark group of civil rights activists. Speakers include Eric Etheridge, author of Breach of Peace: Portraits of the 1961 Freedom Riders, and Doaa Dorgham, an NC State student who took part in the 2011 Student Freedom Rides.
Who: Sponsored by NC State’s Office for Institutional Equity & Diversity.
When: Wednesday, Oct. 26, 3 to 5 p.m.
Where: The event will be held in the Washington Sankofa Room 126 at NC State’s Witherspoon Student Center, located at 2810 Cates Avenue in Raleigh.
Cost: The event is free and open to the public.
