PAMS Faculty Members Named as AMS Fellows

Four NC State faculty members are among the first class of fellows named by the American Mathematical Society last week. Carla Savage, Michael Shearer, Michael Singer and Seth Sullivant, professors in the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, will enter the inaugural class of 1,119 fellows representing over 600 institutions.

The AMS designation recognizes members who have made outstanding contributions to the creation, advancement, communication and utilization of mathematics. The program has multiple goals including building a class of distinguished mathematicians and honoring excellence. Read more about the fellows program.
