Now that everyone is back on campus, classes have started and Wolfpack Welcome Week is drawing to a close—it’s time to party.
The sixth-annual Packapalooza block party and street festival will take over Hillsborough Street on Saturday, as students, alumni, faculty, staff and neighbors in the community will assemble for the family-friendly and free event, which begins at 2 p.m. and will go late into the night.
More than 300 vendors will display their wares, while members of various NC State athletics teams will be on hand for autographs and pictures.
There will be three music stages, kids’ areas, student organizations, food trucks and other interactive activities.
“Packapalooza is a unique partnership between a university and business community to celebrate the beginning of school and the diversity in our community,” says Justine Hollingshead, the Packapalooza planning team co-chair. “We are excited that this is an event for everyone – students, alumni, employees, families and area residents.”
The day-long event will end with a headliner concert by 1990s band the Spin Doctors.
