Williams Named Chair-Elect of HR Association

Marie Williams, associate vice chancellor for human resources, has been selected chair-elect of the board of directors of CUPA-HR, the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources. Her one-year term begins July 1.

Williams, a long-time CUPA-HR member, currently serves as an at-large member on the association’s board of directors and in leadership roles on the budget and finance committee and the public policy committee. She participated in the organization’s Emerging Leaders Program as a participant in 2013 and has served as the program facilitator for the last two years. She has also presented frequently at various CUPA-HR events.

Williams’ higher education career in human resources spans more than 15 years, including leadership positions with Ball State University and Fisk University. She was honored as an American Council for Education Fellow in 2010.
