Head of the Class

This fall, NC State welcomes two new college deans to campus, while three deans start their second year at the helm of their respective colleges. Poole College of Management Dean Annette Ranft and College of Design Dean Mark Hoversten, along with College of Education Dean Mary Ann Danowitz, College of Textiles Dean David Hinks and College of Sciences Dean William Ditto have extensive higher education leadership experience.

Each dean will support achievement of the university’s vision of educational excellence, and will oversee students, faculty and staff in their quest to provide solutions to society’s grand challenges. We spoke to the incoming and second-year deans to get their thoughts on guiding world-class colleges and what leadership success looks like at NC State.
