New NC State Accessibility Collaborative Aims To Foster Campus Inclusivity

DELTA’s Accessibility Team is delighted to announce the establishment of the NC State Accessibility Collaborative (NCStAC) this fall. Created in partnership with several campus units, the group hopes to facilitate collaborative allyship and engagement with accessibility topics as part of a university-wide commitment to removing barriers to inclusion.

Lauren Welch Appointed COE Executive Director of Philanthropy

Welch, who is a double alumna of NC State, has a minor in chemical engineering. She earned bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and multidisciplinary studies, as well as a master’s degree in higher education administration.

Researchers Will Build an International Network of Networks, S2S-AccelNet, To Strengthen Forecast Applications and Services

Researchers from North Carolina State University, Columbia University, the City University of New York (CUNY), Texas A&M University (TAMU) and International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) have received National Science Foundation (NSF) funding to build an international network of networks (NON) to bolster forecasting that helps protect infrastructure and natural resources in a rapidly changing world.

Bringing New Life to Paper Streets 

The City of Durham has over 600 “paper streets” – narrow strips of land planned for use as a street, but never built. College of Design students partnered with the city’s Office of Performance and Innovation to bring new life to these previously underutilized spaces, envisioning micro-parks, art installations, educational outdoor spaces, and valuable pedestrian corridors.
