Textiles Prof Elected

The Society of Dyers and Colourists’ board elected Dr. Renzo Shamey, associate professor of textiles, as a fellow of the society.

The Society of Dyers and Colourists’ board elected Dr. Renzo Shamey, associate professor of textiles, as a fellow of the society. Shamey joined NC State in 2003. He directs the polymer and color chemistry program in the Department of Textile Engineering, Chemistry and Science.

Leading Her Peers

Kelly Hook's election as student body president has been the driving force behind a positive shift in Student Government's ability to connect with the larger student body, as well as an improved relationship with campus administrators. For Hook, the sixth female president in SG history, the opportunity to give voice to her fellow students was one she couldn't pass up.

Getting Re-Carded

Still need to get your new AllCampus card? Until June 28, all re-card stations will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. except the vet school’s, which is open from noon to 7 p.m. on June 15 and from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 16 and 17.

Hidden Voices

Students in the Advanced Media Lab at NC State contributed their creative energy to an effort to raise public awareness of homelessness. A series of animated films created by the students was screened last month by the Chapel Hill Public Arts Office, which sponsored the project in concert with the nonprofit group, Hidden Voices.
