Furniture designer Derek Hennigar mixes sculpture with engineering, Spartanburg Herald Journal, Feb. 16, 2014. Derek Hennigar will display some of his work at a furniture show in Baltimore later this month. When Hennigar began his studies at NC State as an engineering student, he did not set out to be a furniture craftsman. However, while he was working as a carpenter in Raleigh, he, “fell into wood” and approaches things from an engineering and carpentry point of view.
