Alum Robertson Finalist for ‘MythBusters’ Host

Alumna Tamara Robertson is one of 10 finalists to be a host on the Discovery Channel's new version of "MythBusters." The 2009 graduate with a degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering was one of 10,000 applicants to appear on the reality show "MythBusters: The Search," which concludes with winners being announced Saturday in the search finale.

Renowned Chef Howard Speaks on Campus

Award-winning chef, TV personality, author and NC State alumna Vivian Howard will return to campus Dec. 15 to deliver the annual Eloise S. Cofer Lecture on connecting food, family and community. She will also participate in a book signing earlier in the day in the Coastal Ballroom of the Talley Student Union. Both events are free and open to the public.

Monumental Design

The new Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture opens its doors on Sept. 24. For its architect, NC State alumnus and friend Phil Freelon, this marks the end of a nine-year journey that began when he was hired to lead the museum's design team.
