Bye-Bye, Textbooks?

Nearly seven in 10 college students say they have not purchased a textbook for financial reasons, even at the risk of academic performance. That's one of the reasons NCSU Libraries created the Alt Textbook Project, which provides mini-grants and support for faculty to adopt, adapt or create free and open alternatives to textbooks.

Celebrate All Things NC State During Red and White Week

The annual Red and White Week leading up to next Saturday's Homecoming football game against Boston College at Carter-Finley will have a slew of activities, from Chancellor Randy Woodson's annual fall address next Friday afternoon to food and beer presentations to free Howling Cow ice cream on Stafford Commons for students.

The End of the World As We Know It?

Author Paul Ehrlich, professor of population studies and biological sciences at Stanford, will join NC State professor Rob Dunn to talk about the challenges created by explosive worldwide population growth. The free event is slated for Wednesday night at the Hunt Library auditorium.

Rediscover MLK’s Impact at ‘Experiencing King’

Next weekend, NC State is opening its doors for "Experiencing King," a two-day series of events that will give the public a chance to rediscover Martin Luther King Jr.'s impact on the state of North Carolina and the nation through stage drama, documentary film, recently unearthed audio archives, modern art and immersive technologies that re-create the experience of what it was like to attend two of King's landmark speeches in North Carolina.
